PRODUCING FOR SCREEN & SOCIETY

PRODUCING FOR SCREEN & SOCIETY is a Digital Master Class Series geared to developing and recalibrating creative resilience in every day producing matters for producers during these challenging times in a rapidly changing industry. The series is comprised of six sessions.

Renowned producer David Puttnam is the recipient of 10 Academy Awards, 25 BAFTAs, 10 Golden Globes, 9 Emmy Awards and the Palme d‘ Or, among many other awards.

Having produced 30 features (The Mission, Killing Fields, Local Hero, Cal, Chariots of Fire, Midnight Express) and documentaries, David brings his experience as an independent film-producer and long-time industry policy maker to each seminar. He uniquely bridges the gap between industry and education, understanding every aspect of what filmmakers need to achieve their goals.

In 2012 he founded Atticus Education, one of the first digital education firms providing master classes worldwide from his studio in Cork County, Ireland.

David’s twenty-four years as a member of the House of Lords, working on climate change legislation and probing the ethical implications of successive new technologies, provides a rare inter-disciplinary spirit in his lectures.

A cooperation between eQuinoxe Europe and Atticus Education, David Puttnam‘s PRODUCING FOR SCREEN & SOCIETY Digital Master Class Series is geared to developing creative resilience in every day producing matters for experienced producers.

Examples of topics include the Power of Identity, Evolution and Exploration of Creativity, Fact or Fiction, Builders and Bokers, Music and Meaning, Interpreting the Future, among others.

  • It can be very difficult, while working in an industry such as ours, to step off the hamster wheel for a moment and assess where you’re going. This programme helped me take stock, and stoked the fire within me for film and television. I left it feeling reinvigorated and refreshed.

    Órfhlaith NíChearnaigh

  • The programme has made me realise the importance of working as a collective.
